Prior to becoming a patient of Conroe Family Chiropractic I was suffering from a variety of "shooting" pains in my neck and in between my shoulder blades. Having been a collegiate athlete I attributed the pains to sports, and I figured that after a couple of months not participating in athletics my pains would go away. However, the pains began to get worse over time and turn into spasms, which eventually contributed to an early end to my collegiate softball career. I could no longer fully rotate my neck from side to side, and i could no longer throw a softball with the same velocity and distance that I once could. Finally, after these spasms followed me into my professional career and interrupted my daily life I decided that enough was enough.
Before turning to chiropractic care I had tried a variety of the other treatment options ranging from physical therapy to consultations with a surgeon. The severe shoulder pains and spasms began when I was 15 years old, and as a result, I spent some time working on strengthening my shoulder and back area with a physical therapist. The strengthening exercises helped, but the pain would never subside. Finally, I was referred to a surgeon after the back spasms began occurring during my softball games, and I was diagnosed with the pleasant term of "chronic pain."
I was referred to Conrore Family Chiropractic by a co-worker. One day at work I was suffering from a "crick" in my neck and the pain had become overwhelming. My co-worker began talking to me about the wonderful care she had received from Dr. Eulitt at Conroe Family Chiropractic. I politely told her that I had previously undergone chiropractic care during my athletic career and thtat it had done little for me. She then went on to tell me about the overall wellness approach of Dr. Eulitt, and I realized that the approach taken by Conroe Family Chiropractic was different from my past experiences. I then took her up on her offer to give it a try, and I have to say that has been one of my best decisions!
On my first visit to Conroe Family Chiropractic I remember being warmly greeted by Mary at the front desk and then taken batck to watch a video describing quality chiropractic care. After the video, I was taken back to the examination room where I was x-rayed and giben a nerve scan. Dr. Eulitt understood the pains that I was suffering from, and I was relieved when he told me that catching these pains early could lead to a full recovery. After being told as a collegiate athletet that I was suffering from "chronic pain," the idea of a fully recovery waas something I had longed to imagine possible.
I consider myself to be an active individual who loves to participate in a variety of physical activites. My favorite hoppies include running, basketball, softball, and any other competitive sport. However, due to my increasing back pain I could no longer enjoy these activities to the fullest. My shoulder pain, resulting in back spasms, had ended my softball career, and even resulted in a constant feeling of fatigue that left me unwilling to put in a maximum effort to the hobbies I once enjoyed with no worry of a potential spasm or sleepless night.
After having undergone around a month of therapy at Conroe Family Chiropractic I have experienced a variety of improvements. I no longer have roccurring back spasms. I can now rotate my neck to check the blind spots of my car's mirrors before changing lanes. I can now exercise to my full extent without paying for it later with a sleepless, pain filled night. But most of all, I can now go outside with my husband on a beautiful day and play a game of catch.
I hople that my testimonial will help other young adults and athletes consider undergoing chiropractic care because, honestly, I wish I had done this sooner!
